How to Choose Good Quality Fashion Sunglasses?

The requirements for sunglasses by FDA is as following:

* Standard of UV Protection

The lens must block 99% - 100% of UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays, and it must be marked as "UV400" or "100% UV Protection" inside the temples of sunglasses.

* Material of Lens and Frame

The lenses must pass the impact testing to ensure they will not be broken easily. The frame material must be safe, non-toxic.

* Labels and Instructions

The product label must include brand name, model, UV protection level and other information. The instructions must be use English, clear and undertandable language. In additional, labels and instructions should include product name, manufacturer information, product specifications, instructions for using and warning as well.

* Testing Processes

The sunglasses manufacturer will need to submit an application to FDA and provide samples for testing. The testing institution will conduct tests on the lens material, lens color, light transmittance, marking, etc and issue a testing report. FDA will issue a certificate of conformity if the products meet the standards. If the products don't meet the requirements, the testing instruction will provide a detailed testing report and point out the non-conformities and put forward improvement suggestions.

* Other Requirements

The lens material of sunglasses must be safe, non-toxic, non-irritating , with good optical performance and light transmission. The color of the lenses must be uniform, without obvious color differences or spots, and the lenses must indicate the manufacturer, brand, category and other relevant information. Besides, the sunglasses also need to be passed the drop test to access the impact resistance of the lenses.
